EVENTS

TRUEMU Night with the Detroit Pistons| March 7

Join your fellow Eagles at TruEMU Night on March 7, at 7 p.m. as the Detroit Pistons take on the Washington Wizards! Every ticket purchase includes a donation to the Student Emergency Fund.


Green and white Pistons and EMU quarter zips are first come first serve!




Multi-Cultural Fest | March 8 Student Center Ballroom A

Join Student Government to highlight the amazing organizations on campus with our Multi-Cultural Fest! Meet with organizations on campus, check out the open mic performances by students, and shop around the market to help support student artists on campus!


The event will be on March 8, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom! All are welcome and there will be a raffle for prizes, snacks, and tons of fun! You can sign up to perform at the open mic or to sell your items at the market down below!






Financial Literacy Series| March 8 & 15

Join Student Government for our two-part Financial Literacy series including two different lectures, "Life After Graduation" & "Make Money, Make Money!" The event is free and open to students and alumni, and food will be provided for both nights!


Day One: Life After Graduation

Held on March 8 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom B, "Life After Graduation" teaches the basics of financial planning for when you graduate to be prepared for life's obstacles outside of college.


Day Two: Make Money, Make Money

Held on March 15 from 6-8 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium, "Make Money, Make Money" teaches you how to grow your wealth and build for your future while still in school.


Presidential Debate| March 9 Student Center Auditorium

Student Government hosts the annual Presidential Debate on March 9, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium. During this time, students and organizations will be able to ask the Student Body Government presidential and vice presidential candidates questions and voice concerns before voting in March!


Teacher Job Fair| March 14


Open to the Public! Approximately 70 school districts will be hiring teachers and school personnel. The EMU Teacher Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 14, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the EMU Student Center Ballroom. Those who have completed their student teaching, or who have previous teaching / educational experience should participate in the job fair.


It is recommended that you register prior to March 14 so you can review the participating districts and research them prior to the job fair. Candidates may also register at the door.




Senator Debate| March 16 Student Center Auditorium

Student Government hosts the annual Senator Debate on March 16, at 6 p.m. in the Student Center Auditorium. During this time, students and organizations will be able to ask senate candidates questions and voice concerns before voting in March!

 

Resource of the Month: Women's Resource Center

The Women's Resource Center is committed to recognizing and celebrating the diverse representations of women on campus, encouraging and supporting their personal growth, academic enrichment,

and professional development, offering advocacy and referral services and providing educational programming and resources to help women reach their full potential.


The WRC provides a safe space for women to go on campus. A place where women can be seen heard and believed. The WRC's physical space and all events are for trans and cis women; women of color; (dis)abled women; and women of any faith, socioeconomic status, body type, age, national origin, and sexual orientation.

Organization of the Month: PRSSA

Founded in 1967, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. We advocate rigorous academic standards for public relations education, the highest ethical principles, and diversity in the profession.


PRSSA aspires to advance the public relations profession by developing ethically responsible pre-professionals who champion diversity, strive for an outstanding education, and advocate for the profession.


PRSSA is looking for new members! Elections for EBoard will be held on March 30 from 4-5 p.m. in Judy Sturgis Hill Rm 95!

Announcements

Get out and Vote!

Voting for student government begins on March 29, 2023, and ends the next day. Students will receive information via email about how to vote online. All registered undergraduate and graduate students may vote!


Apply for Graduation

The application deadline for Winter 2023 graduation is coming up! if you would like your name to be included in commencement materials, students must apply online by March 6, 2023. The latest a student can apply for graduation is April 28, 2023, and students can apply online now!
